Sea Kayaking the Philippines | Patagonia Catalog Cover | Spring 2009

Alex and Meghan Iams came to visit Dumaguete in November 2006. First on the list of places to visit was Apo Island and we all stayed at Liberty’s Apo Island Resort. During one of the days we were there, Alex and Meghan paddled a small banga boat around the shallow section of the reef that fringes the island while I climbed to the top of of Apo’s famous Boluarte volcanic rock formation to get the overhead perspective. I used a polarizer to take the reflection off the water and bring out the amazing blue of the water. One of the shots ran on the cover of Patagonia’s Spring Corporate catalog, thanks again to Jane, Karen, and Sus for using my work!
