Tommy's Contact info in the Philippines

Since I have had a hard time distinguishing the changes in seasons, a letter or package from home makes it feel like Christmas here anytime. So in that spirit, anything you might choose to send here would be most appreciated!

Here are some tips about sending letters or packages to the Philippines, courtesy of Steve Iams:

  • Be deceptive on the customs form (put 'music' instead of tape or CD) and never claim more than US$5 as the total value.
  • Aerogrammes cannot contain any enclosures, otherwise they will be sent via boat and never, ever arrive.
  • Avoid using mailing envelopes unless everything is of a uniform size, like all magazines and computer or notebook paper.
  • Use more tape that you could imagine possible needing.
  • Always enclose the mailing and return address inside the box, in case the guy who opened it decides to send what's left.
  • Make the contents evenly weighted. Most damage comes from weight shifting when the box is under or over-packed.
