Surf Travel  (159 Photos)

Surfing and travel are a natural combination. Surfers are always looking for new experiences as well as uncrowded waves, so it’s safe to say you’ll be seeing more ‘coffin’ style surf board bags coming out of airport baggage claims in the future as more and more surfers travel further from the beaten path to find ‘undiscovered’ waves and new secret spots. I’m currently based in Bali, one of the world’s top surf travel destinations, but it’s hard for me to call a Bali surf trip ‘surf travel’, because I’m just going out my back door to surf the Bukit nearby. So far, the most memorable surf travel adventure I’ve had was a visit to Lombok Island with my brother Preston, Eddy ‘Bagus’, and Ripsom. We took motor bikes with surf racks up the Bali coastal road to Padangbai, then caught the ferry to Lombok where we then traveled south to Kuta Beach. This photo gallery covers some of my favorite shots from that trip and other surf travel adventures in Indonesia.
