Bali seems to have two groups of travelers: the Ubud crowd and the beach crowd—and it’s not that often that the two shall mix! The Bali beach crowd is centered in the Kuta / Legian / Seminyak area and spends their days surfing or on the beach, while the Ubud crowd prefers the rice terraces and mountainous areas around the Agung volcano and is more into yoga, meditation, and stress-free living. Kuta Beach is probably the most popular Bali beach in terms of numbers of visitors, but other nearby favorites include Legian, Seminyak, Oberoi (Ku de Ta), and a bit north, Canggu. Further south of Jimbaran, Dreamland Beach gets the most visitors, and Padang Padang beach is really popular for its laid-back beauty and world-famous ‘Green Room’ barrel wave that only breaks a few times a year. On the East Side, Nusa Dua and Sanur beaches are the favorites. This gallery covers photos from the best beach experience Bali has to offer.
