I spent a lot of time underwater in 2005. After shooting many thousands of photos with my little Canon digital Elph S400, I decided to upgrade to the new five megapixel S500 so my digital photos would have a better resolution. I also shot some Fuji Velvia slide film in a Canon Elan 7e, but in November, I switched my SLR to the Canon digital Rebel XT and haven’t shot any slides since then. Notable trips included a visit to Batanes in Northern Luzon. This was also the year that I started playing music with Frying Nemo at Hayahay in Dumaguete—one of the best experiences of my entire time in the Philippines.
