The “city that never sleeps” cliché gets applied to a lot of big cities, but when it comes to Bangkok nightlife, the cliché is probably true. With everything from good live music in a smoky jazz club to trendy hipster bars, night clubs and great restaurants, there’s never a shortage of options of what to do in BKK when the sun goes down. Patpong Road is probably Bangkok’s most famous (or infamous) night spot with a reputation for sleazy go-go bars and one of the largest trinket-oriums you’ll find anywhere on earth. When you say the words ‘Bangkok nightlife’, a lot of people think Patpong. It’s maybe worth one visit to Patpong (take the BTS Sky Train to Sala Daeng station), but once you overdose on neon lights, hype, and fake Rolex’s, look a little deeper at the Bangkok nightlife and you’re sure to find something a lot better.
